MOT Tests

It goes without saying that MOT King carries out MOT’s to all class 4 cars and light vans, after all, that’s what we have been doing for the last 26 years. We have a class 4 testing bay with a sunken 4 post lift which means that however low your car, we can lift it easily with no damage.
We carry out services to most cars and light vans. We have 5 service bays each equipped with colour dvd video recording systems. Your car’s stay in our works is videod all the time it’s in a service bay, whether up in the air on down on the ground. The video is recorded in real time and time/date  stamped. If you would like a copy of the work carried out on your car then please ask; they are free. We have the necessary equipment to reprogramme your service indicator if needed and we are also authorised to stamp your service record book during the initial warranty period. Unlike many garages who only stock one grade of oil in bulk, we have many different grades of oil. You may be sure we have the correct grade of oil required by your car engine, whether fully synthetic or not.
Above is an oscilloscope pattern of an important engine sensor. However, you may rest assured we always test a sensor which has been identified by the ECU as being faulty rather than replacing it automatically. Sometimes a code generated for a very expensive oxygen sensor may very well only be an air leak from a broken vacuum pipe like the one below

Diagnostic Services

We have the latest Diagnostic equipment to plug into your car’s computer to access fault codes and live readings. Modern cars built in the last 3 years have more than half their build value invested in electronics and onboard computer systems (ECU’s). If a garage does not have up-to-date equipment and software to diagnose the system on your car, then its rather down to trial and error with the inherrant costs that come with the speculative fitting of parts. You will be reassured to know that our Bosch diagnostic equipment cost £18,000 and £1000 every year to upgrade the software. Even so, a diagnostic visit costs as little as £27 for a hook-up compared with other dealerships who charge around £100 for the same job.

We will always quote you a price before going ahead with any expensive work. We will generally give you a choice between fitting a part supplied by the vehicle manufacturer or a cheaper equivalent. The choice is yours.

When you have a tyre fitted by us we won’t be trying to sell you extras (known as nickel & diming). Too many tyre bays try to convince you that you need nitrogen in your tyres instead of air. You don’t need it or the extra expense involved.
